Who we are

The Pottery Spottery is a unique studio in Philadelphia where everyone, no matter their age, skill or budget, can create their own painted work of art. Our space is welcoming, playful and always judgment-free. It’s the perfect spot for a ladies night, child’s birthday party, first date or just expressing one’s creativity.

Amy, the owner and operator, has been living in Philadelphia for over 10 years. With a robust history of working in paint-your-own-pottery studios, babysitting and 20+ years of working in theater, she is combining her knowledge and flair for the dramatic into her very own studio. She has culminated her experience into The Pottery Spottery to create a warm, welcoming and user-friendly environment accessible and enjoyable for anyone.

Meet the staff!

Mara

Mara is a ceramic artist with a BFA in Ceramics and Entrepreneurial Studies. After moving to Philly, Mara started working full time at The Pottery Spottery as the manager and kiln technician. As well as being a ceramicist Mara is also a published illustrator. She is a proud owner of Bisque, The Pottery Spottery Corgi. On her free time she loves to travel and shop along side of Bisque.

Julia

Julia is a “Jack of all Trades” artist with a BFA simply in Art. Julia has studied every form of art offered at Penn State — from painting to sculpture, to printmaking and 3D design. Born and raised in Philly, Julia started working at the Pottery Spottery after leaving her job working in early childhood education to move to South Philly where she enjoys long walks around Passyunk Ave.

Bisque

Bisque is a good girl who is also very hard worker at The Pottery Spottery. Rescued from ACCT, bisque became certified as a service animal. She loves to greet costumers with enthusiasm and warmth but on her off days you can find her taking long walks around Philly with her best friend Mara. Bisque is also very respectful about boundaries and will oblige to anyone who is puppy intolerant.
